Lockdown at South Pasadena High School: Students’ hearts are troubled by news of a gunshot that happened at South Pasadena High School. Officers responded to a report of a single gunshot heard on the Diamond Avenue side of the South Pasadena High campus at around 8:56 a.m. on November 7, 2024. The high school also announced that they were going into lockdown.
Following a search and interviews with several staff members, the police determined that the area was safe and that the loud noise was caused by a science experiment being conducted in a nearby classroom. Classes then resumed as usual once staff members removed the lockdown.
