Sadly, Dr. Larry D. Tyler of Louisville, Kentucky, who taught engineering principles at JB School of Engineering, University of Louisville passed away. On November 6, 2024, the information about his passing was taken from a Facebook post. His family revealed the cause of his death at the time of this report. He was a professor of the highest caliber and a good, compassionate man. Many people who knew and loved him, especially his family and community, are deeply scarred by his demise. His obituary and funeral arrangements will be revealed later by his family.
Dr. Larry D. Tyler teaches at the Department of Engineering Fundamentals and has an associate position in mechanical engineering. In addition to an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, Dr. Tyler has graduate degrees in mathematics and engineering as well as an interdisciplinary PhD that integrated engineering and physics. Both his students and his professorial community will miss him.
He attended University of Louisville, where he obtained B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, 1963. He also obtained Mathematics Master’s degree, at the University of Louisville, 1967. He attended the University of Louisville, where he received ME in Mechanical Engineering, 1976. Finally he was at the University of Louisville, where he obtained Ph.D. in Engineering Physics, 1985.
